Designing with styles

By default, XPages and user interface (UI) controls use the default cascading styles sheets (CSS) provided with Domino® Server. However, you can override Domino® Server styles with your own style sheets and custom settings.

Domino® Designer provides several options for working with style sheets. For example, you can either create your own style sheets or import existing ones from your local machine and add them to XPages within your application. You can also map style classes to UI controls, and group your favorite style sheets and script resources into a Theme to provide a common corporate look and feel.

In addition to using style sheets, you can also apply your own custom formatting to XPages and UI controls using the Font, Background, and Margins tabs in the Properties view.
Note: Adding your own custom formatting will either override or merge with the definitions within the current theme style sheets depending on the cascading rules of CSS
