Adding images and image placeholders to design elements

Add images that you have imported into the application. You can also add image placeholders if you want to reserve space on the XPage or in the control but do not have a copy of the image yet.

About this task

To add an image or an image placeholder to elements in your application (for example, an XPage), do the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Click on Image on the Controls palette and hold the mouse button down.
  2. Drag the Image control to the position in the XPages editor where you want to insert the image or placeholder.
  3. If you want to insert the image directly into the design element, select the image file name you wish to use from the Select Image window.
  4. Select the Use an image resource radio button to place the image directly in the design element.
  5. If you want to create a image reference placeholder, select the Use an image placeholder radio button to create a image reference placeholder. You can add image placeholders if you want to reserve space on the XPage or in the control but do not have a copy of the image yet.
A placeholder icon displays in the XPage to indicate that you have not yet added an image. When you are ready to add an image, you can specify the image file source in image options in the Properties view.
  6. Click OK to finish.
