Adding controls

Controls are visual elements such as edit boxes, buttons, images, and text that allow users to manipulate data on an XPage.

Controls are of the following types: core, container, and other.

A tag name identifies each control in the XML. A common name appears in the user interface. For example, the tag name for an edit box is inputText while the common name is Edit Box. The reference topics that follow identify controls by tag name and common name.

The Controls palette and the Create menu list most of the core and container controls by default. Select Other to access all controls. You can adjust the controls display at File > Preferences > Domino Designer > Palette.
