Column name Displays
Display tool tips in VersionVault Navigator and VersionVault Details views Click to specify that hovering over an object with the cursor in the VersionVault Navigator view or in the VersionVault Details view produces additional information about the current object.
Preserve version creation time when files are updated or loaded from the server By default, the last modified time of an HCL VersionVault element is the time when the element was last loaded, updated, or restored. To specify the modified time of the element as the last modified time of that version in the VOB, click the Preserve version creation time when files are updated or loaded from the server preference.

Important: If you use dynamic views or automatic views, preserve version creation times consistently for checkin and checkout operations.

Note that this preference setting can also affect an Undo Checkout or Undo Hijack operation. Undoing a hijack operation reloads the corresponding version from the server and restores the last modified time as specified by this preference setting. Likewise, undoing a checkout operation restores the corresponding version of the element and also restores the last modified time according to this preference setting.

Preserve modification time when checking in files and adding new files to source control By default, the last modified time of an VersionVault element is the time it was last checked in. To preserve the last modified time during a checkin operation or when adding resources to source control, click the Preserve modification time when checking in files and adding new files to source control preference.
Preserve version creation time when files are checked out (dynamic views only) When this option is on and you are using a dynamic view, the Preserve Time option of the Checkout dialog box is selected by default. When the Preserve Time option is selected, the time of last modification is preserved from the last time the resource was checked in to source control. When the Preserve Time option is not selected, the time of last modification is set to the current time when you check out the resource. This option is on by default.
Decorate view names with server names and connection status in VersionVault Navigator Click to append the name of the server and its connection status to the names of each of your VersionVault views.
Always prompt before disconnecting When this option is on, the Log off from VersionVault confirmation dialog box appears when you select the Disconnect option. You can also turn this option off by clearing the Always prompt before disconnecting check box in the Log off from VersionVault confirmation dialog box. This option is on by default.
Automatically request mastership if necessary to perform a VersionVault operation Click to request branch or branch type mastership if a Check In, Check Out, or Add To Source Control operation fails when using HCL VersionVault MultiSite because a branch is mastered remotely. Once mastership has been granted locally, retrying the operation should succeed. This option is on by default.
Prompt to repair discordance found while browsing When a resource in a VersionVault view is in an unknown state, it means there is discordance between the client and the server about the state of the resource. Click to specify that if any discordance is encountered while browsing, the entire view should be scanned for discordance.
Decorate eclipsing view private resources in dynamic/automatic views To display view private artifacts that might be eclipsing versioned resources, select this preference. Keep in mind that this is only relevant for dynamic and automatic views.
Default location for the shared cleartext cache for automatic views Click Browse to select the default location for the cleartext cache for automatic views.
Restore Defaults Click to restore the default settings to the VersionVault Explorer preferences page.
Apply Click to apply any changes you have specified while leaving open the Preferences window.
OK Confirms the operation and closes the window.
Cancel Cancels the operation.
