VersionVault common dialog box preferences

Use the VersionVault common dialog box preferences dialog boxes to specify how VersionVault should display specific dialog boxes.

Add to Source Control

Use this option to set the following preferences for the Add To Source Control dialog box:

Controls in the dialog box

The following controls are displayed in the Add to Source Control dialog box.

Column name Displays
Recursion option Click to specify that the Include descendant artifacts of the selected directories option appears on the Add to Source Control dialog box by default.
Filtering Click to specify that filtering options for The selected resource(s) list box appear on the Add to Source Control dialog box by default.
Table of artifacts Click to specify that the table listing the artifacts that you can add to source control appears on the Add to Source Control dialog box by default.
Activity Click to specify that when you are using a UCM view, the Activity, New, and Find options appear on the Add to Source Control dialog box by default.
Option to checkout artifacts after adding to source control Click to specify that the Option to checkout artifacts after adding to source control feature appears on the Add to Source Control dialog box by default.
Comment Click to specify that the Comment option appears on the Add to Source Control dialog box by default.
Option to leave the parent directory checked out Click to specify that the Option to leave the parent directory checked out option appears on the Add to Source Control dialog box by default.
Current activity Click to specify that the Current Activity after Add to Source Control option appears on the Add to Source Control dialog box by default when you are using a UCM view.
Checkout artifacts after adding to source control Click to specify that the this option is selected in the Add to Source Control dialog box by default.
Keep parent directories checked out after modification Click to specify that the this option is selected in the Add to Source Control dialog box by default.
Assign local mastership to any newly created branches Click to automatically assign mastership of a new element's main branch (as well as any other branches that may get created due to mkbranch rules) to the current VOB replica where the Add To Source operation takes place. This option is off by default.
Restore Defaults Click to restore the default settings to the Add to Source Control Dialog Preferences page.
Apply Click to apply any changes you have specified while leaving open the Preferences dialog box.
OK Confirms the operation and closes the Preferences dialog box.
Cancel Cancels the operation.

Checkin

Use this option to set the following preferences for the Checkin dialog box:

The following controls are displayed in the Checkin dialog box.

Column name Displays
Table of artifacts Click to specify that the table listing the artifacts you can check in appears on the Checkin dialog box by default.
Activity Click to specify that when you are using a UCM view, the Select Activity, New, and Find options appear on the Checkin dialog box by default.
Comment Click to specify that the Comment option appears on the Checkin dialog box by default.
Transactional checkin (for Base CC) Click to specify that the Commit changes in one transaction per VOB option appears on the Checkin dialog box by default.
Commit changes in one transaction per VOB Click to specify that this option is turned on by default in the Checkin dialog box.
Checkin identical options Click to specify that the Checkin even if the version is identical to its predecessor option, the Undo the checkout if the version is identical to its predecessor option, and the Leave the version checked out if its identical to its predecessor option appear on the Checkin dialog box by default.
Current activity Click to specify that the Current Activity option appears on the Checkin dialog box by default when you are using a UCM view.
For Logical Model integrations, only include the physical files selected for checkin Click to specify the default behavior on the Checkin dialog box when checking in resources from Logical Model integrations.
Checkin even if the version is identical to its predecessor, Undo the checkout if the version is identical to its predecessor and Leave the version checked out if it is identical to its predecessor Click one of these three options to specify the option that is selected on the Checkin dialog box by default.
The string returned by the server when attempting to checkin an identical version Enter the text string that the server returns when a checkin is attempted on a version that is identical to its predecessor. The default string is: identical to predecessor.
Restore Defaults Click to restore the default settings to the Checkin Dialog Preferences page.
Apply Click to apply any changes you have specified while leaving open the Preferences dialog box.
OK Confirms the operation and closes the Preferences dialog box.
Cancel Cancels the operation.

Checkout

Use this option to set the following preferences for the Checkout dialog box:

The following controls are displayed in the Checkout dialog box.

Column name Displays
Hijack instead when editing a checked in file Click to specify that the Hijack Instead option appears on the Checkout dialog box by default.
Recursion option Click to specify that the Include descendant artifacts of the selected directories option and the Checkout descendant artifacts only, do not checkout descendant directories option appear on the Checkout dialog box by default.
Filtering Click to specify that filtering options for The selected resource(s) list box appear on the Checkout dialog box by default.
Table of artifacts Click to specify that the table listing the artifacts you can check out appears on the Checkout dialog box by default.
Activity Click to specify that when you are using a UCM view, the Select Activity, New, and Find options appear on the Checkout dialog box by default.
Comment Click to specify that the Comment option appears on the Checkout dialog box by default.
Checkout reserved options Click to specify that the Reserved Checkout, Prefer reserved, unreserved if necessary, and Unreserved Checkout options appear on the Checkout dialog box by default.
Keep hijacked contents Click to specify that the Keep the hijack content option appears on the Checkout dialog box by default.
Current activity Click to specify that the Current Activity option appears on the Checkout dialog box by default when you are using a UCM view.
Checkout the version that is loaded even if it is not the latest and Checkout the view-selected version if the one loaded is not the latest Click one of these two options to specify the default behavior on the Checkout dialog box when the version of a resource that is loaded is not the latest version.
Prompt before checkout of non-latest version Click to specify that you receive a message prompt if the version of a resource you are checking out is not the latest version.
Always reserved , Prefer reserved, unreserved if necessary and Always unreserved Click one of these three options to specify the option that is selected on the Checkout dialog box by default.
For Logical Model integrations, only include the physical files selected for checkout Click to specify the default behavior on the Checkout dialog box when checking out resources from Logical Model integrations.
Keep the hijacked content Click to specify that this option is selected on the Checkout dialog box by default.

Comment Click to specify that the Comment option appears on the Move dialog box by default.
Option to leave the parent directory checked out Click to specify that the Leave the parent directory checked out option appears on the Move dialog box by default.
Current activity Click to specify that the Current Activity option appears on the Move dialog box by default when you are using a UCM view.
Keep parent directories checked out after modification Click to specify that the Leave the parent directory checked out option is selected by default on the Move Dialog Preferences page.

Remove

Option to leave the parent directory checked out Click to specify that the Leave the parent directory checked out option appears on the Rename dialog box by default.

Undo Checkout

Use this option to set the following preferences for the Undo Checkout dialog box:

Table of artifacts Click to specify that the table listing the resources for an undo checkout operation appears on the Undo Checkout dialog box by default.
Keep copy Click to specify that the Keep a copy of modified artifacts option appears on the Undo Checkout dialog box by default.
Keep a copy of the un-Checkedout file Click to specify that the Keep a copy of modified artifacts option is selected on the Undo Checkout dialog box by default.
For Logical Model integrations, only include the physical files selected for undo checkout Click to specify the default behavior on the Undo Checkout dialog box when undoing a checkout of resources from Logical Model integrations.
Restore Defaults Click to restore the default settings to the Undo Checkout Dialog Preferences page.
Apply Click to apply any changes you have specified while leaving open the Preferences dialog box.
OK Confirms the operation and closes the Preferences dialog box.

Undo Hijack

Use this option to set the following preferences for the Undo Hijack dialog box:
