VersionVault Version Tree

The VersionVault Version Tree view displays the VersionVault version history of a resource.

The VersionVault Version Tree view displays a graphical view of the version history for a VersionVault element. To open the VersionVault Version Tree, right-click a resource in a VersionVault view and then select Show Version Tree on the context menu.

The VersionVault Version Tree view opens and displays a partial tree for the resource, which includes only the contributing versions for the version currently selected by your VersionVault view. For example, only the versions and branches that are directly connected to the view-selected version are shown. Click the fetch branches icon icon to fetch the missing versions and complete the version tree.

In the VersionVault Version Tree view, each version of a resource is displayed as a node on the tree, and the version currently selected by your view is marked with the vtree view-selected icon icon. You can use the VersionVault Version Tree view to perform VersionVault operations on resources by right-clicking on a version node, a branch, or a merge arrow and then selecting a VersionVault operation.
Note: You can also navigate the VersionVault Version Tree and perform operations on resources by using the keyboard. For more information, see VersionVault Version Tree shortcut keys.

Information about versions in the VersionVault Version Tree

In addition to displaying the versions of a VersionVault resource, the VersionVault Version Tree view also displays detailed information about a version, including any metadata attached to the version and the current state of the version (for example, checked-out).

Checked-out versions are marked with a green check mark.

Metadata attached to a version is displayed to the right of the node. If the metadata display is truncated, you can hover over the text to open a larger metadata display box.
