Create Label Type

Use the Create Label Type dialog to create new label types.

Controls in the window

The following controls appear in the window:

Control name Control description
Type name Name of the new label type to be created. A VOB cannot contain a branch type and a label type with the same name. For that reason, it is recommended that you make all letters in names of branch types lowercase (a-z) and letters in names of label types uppercase (A-Z).
In VOB Name of the VOB where the label type is to be created. After creating a label type in a VOB, you can attah labels of that type to versions of that VOB's elements.
Comment (Optional) Enter a description of the label type.
Create a global type Creates a label type that can be used as a global resource by client VOBs in the administrative VOB hierarchy. If this option is not selected, the new label type is an ordinary label type that can be used only in the current VOB.
Acquire globally defined types of the same name Checks for eclipsing label types in client VOBs and converts them to local copies of the new global label type. This option is active when you select the Create a global type option.
Allow use of this label type even when it is remotely mastered Allows you to create (apply) or delete labels of this type at other replicas in the VOB family. Note that the replica must master the element of the version that you apply the label to or remove the label from.
This label may be applied: once per element The label cannot be applied to multiple versions of the same element. To move a label to a different version of the same element, you must select the Move existing label if one exists option on the Apply Label wizard: select options page.
This label may be applied: once per branch The label cannot be applied to multiple versions on the same branch. To move a label to a different version on the branch, you must select the Move existing label if one exists option on the Apply Label wizard: select options page.
OK Closes the Create Label Type window and creates the label type.
Cancel Closes the Create Label Type window without creating the label type.
