Troubleshooting: Store preview with workspaces shows empty products

Store preview displays empty products after the search index is set up and built.

Problem

Empty products are displayed in store preview after the search index is set up and built. That is, after the following tasks are performed:
  1. Run the setupSearchIndex utility.
  2. Restart the WebSphere Commerce and search servers.
  3. Run the di-buildindex utility.
In this scenario, the following query returns no results:
  • http://host_name:3737/solr/MC_10001_CatalogEntry_WCR101_en_US/select?q=*:*

Solution

This issue occurs because the workspace search index is not synchronized with the base search index. Therefore, the search index is empty on the workspace cores.

To resolve this issue, restart the search server.
