Troubleshooting: Deleting Attribute Dictionary attributes requires cleanup

You must clean up the search facets configuration data when an Attribute Dictionary attribute is deleted and recreated from the WebSphere Commerce database. Otherwise, no facet appears in the storefront. This applies when deleting Attribute Dictionary attributes using the Management Center or Dataload.

Identifying which attributes require cleanup

You must perform the following cleanup steps if the attribute is marked as one of the following in the attribute dictionary:
  • Searchable
  • Feature Pack 6 or laterUse in merchandising
These steps are not required if the attribute is marked as the following in the attribute dictionary:
  • Feature Pack 5 or laterFacetable

Solution

To resolve this issue, you must clean up the search facets configuration data in the following tables:Otherwise, when you recreate an Attribute Dictionary attribute with the same name, it is not correctly indexed, and as a result, no facet appears in the storefront.
