Using a self-signed certificate for the Broker

You can create a self-signed certificate for the broker by following the Creating a self signed certificate procedure.

When using self-signed certificates make sure you extract the certificate from the keystore as described in step 20 of the above mentioned procedure. This certificate it needs to be uploaded to the Remote Control server.

When you have created the certificate files you should copy the keystore to the broker machine and configure the broker properties, for more details, see Configuring the keystore on the broker.

The broker certificate should then be added to the Remote Control server, see Truststore configuration.

You can start setting up the broker with a self-signed certificate and switch to a CA signed certificate later.
