        When you choose to work disconnected, actions that require a server connection are disabled and you are not prompted to connect when you attempt to perform them. You can work disconnected from a VOB server (in the case of a snapshot view) or from the VersionVault WAN server (in the cases of a web view or automatic view).

Using base VersionVault

Unstructured access to VersionVault tools is provided by base VersionVault.

Before you begin

Unlike UCM, which requires the project leader to create a project before developers can begin work, base VersionVault requires only that at least one VOB be accessible to the HCL VersionVault server. The project leader or any of the project members can add resources to the VOB.

Procedure

To start using Base VersionVault:

If you are planning to use a web view or an automatic view, ask your project manager for the name and url of the VersionVault WAN server to use. This step is not necessary for dynamic and snapshot views.
Click the icon on the VersionVault toolbar to start the View Creation wizard.
