Using custom colors

If you want to use a color that is not listed in the foreground or background options on the Color window, you can click the icons to the right of the menus to open the Custom Color window. Depending on your version of Java, the Custom Color window contains the following:

  • Swatches: Select the desired color from the grid of colors. This adds the color to the Recent grid. (Java 2-enabled browsers only)
  • HSB: Enter the numerical values for hue, saturation, and brightness, or slide the bar until you reach the desired color. This tab also shows you the corresponding red, green, and blue values. (Java 2-enabled browsers only)
  • RGB: Enter the numerical values for the colors red, green, and blue. Numerical values range from 0 to 255, which yields a combination of over 16 million colors.

For Java 2-enabled browsers, once you select your colors/values, you can preview them in the preview area at the bottom of the window. Click OK to save the changes and return to the session or Cancel to cancel the changes and return to the session.

For Java 1-enabled browsers, select your RGB values and either click OK to save the changes and return to the session or Cancel to cancel the changes and return to the session. If you click OK, the color bar on the Color window is highlighted with the closest match to those values.

Once you have returned to the Color window, click Undo to undo the most recent change. Clicking Undo repeatedly undoes all recent changes in the order they were made, up to the point of when changes were started.
