To use personalization fields for additional contact tracking

Using personalization fields to provide additional contact tracking information is available only by request to Unica. After this feature is enabled for your hosted email account, you must define the specified personalization fields for every mailing that you run.

You can use OLT, Constant, or Built-in personalization fields for contact tracking.

  1. Define one or more personalization fields that capture the information that you want to use for tracking.
  2. Contact Unica Deliver Services to request that Unica enable additional contact tracking with personalization fields for your hosted email account. You must specify the personalization fields that you plan to use.

  3. Define the tracking personalization fields in each mailing you send.

  4. Run or schedule the mailing.
  5. When the mailing run completes, review the data in the UCC_EnvelopeAttr table.

    In the UCC_EnvelopeAttr table, the EnvelopeID column identifies individual email messages. The following additional tracking data is available.

    • AttributeName: Name of the personalization field used for tracking.
    • AttributeTypeID: 8
    • StringValue: Value if the personalization field returns text data
    • NumberValue: Value if the personalization field returns numerical data
    • DatetimeValue: Value if the personalization field returns date or time

    Use your reporting or database management tools to retrieve and analyze this additional tracking information.
