Tracking audienceID as a contact attribute

In Unica Campaign, you define audience levels to identify objects and individuals defined in your marketing database that you can target with a campaign. You define audience levels by mapping Campaign tables to tables in your marketing databases.

When you run a flowchart to create a recipient list, Deliver creates the list as a database table and includes a row for each email recipient. In each row, Deliver adds the unique audienceID assigned to each individual in Unica Campaign, based on the audience to which the individual belongs. The composition of the audienceID depends on the structure of your marketing data and how that data is mapped to the audience level in Campaign.

The audienceID can be text or a number, and can consist of a single value or multiple values. If the audienceID contains multiple values, Deliver records each value as a contact attribute in the Deliver tracking tables as a separate row in the UCC_Envelope_Attr table. However, if the audienceID is defined by a single field, Deliver records the audienceID in the UCC_Envelope table. You can request that Deliver store single audienceID information as contact attribute data in the UCC_Envelope_Attr table, as it does for multiple values. Storing all audienceID information in a single table can simplify reporting.
