About transaction events

You can configure a transactional email to respond to any activity that your transaction management systems can detect. Deliver considers such an activity to be transaction events. Typical transaction events include purchases, customer enrollment for a service or newsletter, information requests, or customer account updates.

Transaction events are not limited to database transactions or actions initiated by the recipient of the email. For example, you can send a transactional email when an individual initiates the action by placing an order. However, you can also send a transactional email when your organization initiates the action by shipping the customer's order or issuing an account status message. Any business activity that your organization considers a marketing opportunity can be a transaction event.
