Recipient data selection for transactional message

Transactional messages do not rely on data that is contained in an OLT to populate personalization fields in the message. Instead, the local transactional message client application retrieves recipient-specific information that is required by a transactional message directly from your marketing databases. The client application must be able to access the databases that contain the required personalization data.

The local transactional message client must provide a value for every personalization field that is defined for the messaging, including fields that are used for additional contact and link tracking. Digital marketers must work with the application developers to identify all personalization fields that are required and ensure that the client can provide a value for each field.
