Comparing task group changes with approved content

All changes that are made to business objects within a task group are listed in the History pane as either create, modify, or delete history records. Comparing a modified business object with the approved content displays both versions of the object side by side for quick comparison.

Before you begin

Ensure that you are logged in to the Workspace Management tool as one of the following roles:
  • Workspace manager
  • Task group approver
  • Content contributor

About this task

Note: You can compare a modified business object with approved content only if the business object exists in approved content.
You cannot compare task group changes with approved content when the task group is in one of the following approved or canceled states:
  • Complete
  • Published
  • Publish failed
  • Canceled
To view the list of change history records for task groups in these states, an administrator must configure the Workspace Management tool. For more information, see Enabling the change history for approved and canceled task groups.

Procedure

  1. Open the Workspace Management tool.
  2. Find and open the task group for which you want to view the history.
  3. Click the History tab.

    Every change that is associated with the task group is listed as history record in the history table.

  4. Click the history record that contains the modified business object to which you want to compare with the approved version.
  5. Click Compare with approved content. Alternatively, right-click the history record and click Compare with approved content or click Edit > Compare with approved content.
    The modified business object is displayed in the left pane, while the approved content is displayed in the right pane.
    Note: If no record is displayed in the right pane, it means that the business object you are trying to compare does not exist in approved content.
