Permissions for accessing HCL Digital Experience content from HCL Commerce

Before you can use HCL Digital Experience content in Management Center and the React Store, you must grant certain permissions to access the content from outside HCL Digital Experience.

Permissions for anonymous access for libraries

For all libraries created in HCL Digital Experience, you must explicitly set the required permissions to the library for anonymous access on both auth and live environments so that the content is displayed in the stores for all shoppers.

To set the permissions, complete the following steps as an Administrator:
  • Go to Web Content > Web Content Libraries. Select the library that you created.
  • Select Set Permission <yourLibrary>.
  • Select Edit Role for the User resource.
  • Select Add > Anonymous Portal User and click OK.

Permissions for the API to retrieve translated content

If you create new libraries that are multi-language enabled, the API to retrieve translated content must have permissions set on both auth and live environments so that the content is displayed in the stores for all shoppers.

To set the permissions, complete the following steps as an Administrator:
  • Go to Web Content > Web Content Libraries. Select the library that you created.
  • Go to Components > MLConfFileReference.
  • Click Edit.
  • Select Access and in the Contributor row, for Administrator Defined, select Grant Contributor Access to the Anonymous Portal User.
  • Click Save and Close.

Permissions to access content from outside HCL Digital Experience

To grant permissions to access content from outside HCL Digital Experience, complete the following steps:
  • In HCL Digital Experience, go to Administration > Security.
  • Go to Resource Permissions.
  • For Select Resource Type, select Virtual Resources.
  • Go to the WCM REST SERVICE tab and select User.
  • Grant Anonymous Portal User access to allow access the content from outside HCL Digital Experience.

Permissions for the Marketing manager to access HCL Digital Experience Auth environment as an Administrator

To set the permissions, complete the following steps as an Administrator:
  • Go to Web Content > Web Content Libraries.
  • Go to Resource Permissions.
  • Select Edit Role for the Administrator resource.
  • Click Add.
  • Search for and select the user. Click OK.
