Removing load rules

Use the VersionVault View Configuration tool to remove load rules and unload resources from a snapshot, web, or automatic view.

About this task

The Edit Configuration dialog box includes a load rule editor with which you can remove load rules whether they were created using the Load Resources dialog box or the Edit Configuration dialog box itself.

Procedure

To remove a load rule from a non-dynamic view:
  1. In the VersionVault Navigator, select the VersionVault view.
  2. From the VersionVault Navigator context menu, select Show VersionVault View Configuration to open the VersionVault View Configuration tool.
  3. In the VersionVault View Configuration tool, click the Load Rules tab to display the view's load rules.
  4. Click the Eclipse view menu  icon icon on the VersionVault View Configuration toolbar and select Edit Configuration or click the add load rule icon icon on the VersionVault View Configuration toolbar to open the Edit Configuration dialog box.
  5. In the Edit Configuration dialog box, click the Load Rules tab, then remove load rules by selecting corresponding elements in the Select resources and add or remove rules tree and clicking Remove. Note that you must select an element in the tree that exactly matches the load rule that you want to remove in the Load Rules list box. You can also remove load rules by deleting them from the Load Rules list box.
  6. Optional: To undo all of the changes you have made in the load rules, click Cancel.
  7. Click OK to apply your changes and start unloading resources from the view.

Results

The load rules are removed from the view configuration and the loaded resources that they describe are unloaded. Folders and any view-private files within the scope of the removed load rule remain and are renamed name.unloaded. You can delete these files and folders.
