Finding managed files

You can find a managed file under the selected store by browsing or using a simple search. All searching in the Assets tool is case sensitive.

Procedure

  1. Open the Assets tool.
  2. Use one of the following methods:
    OptionDescription
    Browse
    1. From the explorer view filter, select Files, and navigate to the managed directory that contains the managed file that you want to find.
    2. Expand the child nodes of the managed directory to navigate to the managed file. The managed files are displayed in the Files list view.
WebSphere Commerce EnterpriseNote: If you are working in an extended sites store, you can also navigate to the root directory for the asset store to view files under managed directories for both the selected extended sites store and the asset store.
Simple Search To perform a simple search, navigate to the find area.
    1. Type a search string in the search field, select from a list of object types, and click Find Find. Once you find the managed file you are looking for, you can double-click it to open it in the properties editor.
The system performs a search of managed file names based on your search criteria. This is a case-sensitive search, and the managed files are returned in alphabetic order.
Note: You can also use the asterisk (*) as a wildcard before or after your search string. For example, to find all managed files containing a path that begins with "ABC", type ABC*; to find all managed files that contain a path that ends in "ABC", type *ABC.

Any special characters (for example, &, %, #, @, and so on), are treated literally. The asterisk (*); however, is only treated literally when used between two asterisks (such as *xxx*xxx*), or used in the middle of a string (such as 123*789).

    2. Click Search Search.
The search returns up to 500 results.
WebSphere Commerce EnterpriseNote: If you search for managed files in an extended sites store, all files that meet the search criteria and belong to this extended sites store or the asset store are returned.
