IBM Management Center for WebSphere Commerce
The IBM Management Center for WebSphere Commerce, or Management Center, is a suite of tools to support store management, merchandising, and marketing tasks for business users (Sellers, Marketing Managers, Product Managers, Catalog Managers, and others).
Catalog Filter and Pricing tool
Use the Catalog Filter and Pricing tool in Management Center to create and manage catalog filters, price lists, and price rules. Sellers, Sales Managers, and Account Representatives can use the tool's flexible features to implement catalog filtering and pricing strategies that meet the site's business needs over time.
Working with catalog filters
Catalog filters can be managed by Sales Managers, Account Representatives, and Seller Administrators.
Using catalog filters
By creating catalog filters and assigning them to contracts, you can entitle subsets of your catalog to your customers. You can also use catalog filters in price rules to set pricing for different subsets of your catalog.
Assigning a catalog filter to a contract
To entitle different customers to a subset of your catalog on the storefront, you must assign a catalog filter to a contract using WebSphere Commerce Accelerator. This requirement applies to all business models (B2B direct stores, consumer direct stores, and extended site stores); however the assignment steps differ depending on the business model and the type of contract.
B2B direct stores
Using WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, you can assign a catalog filter to the following types of contracts in the B2B direct store and B2B direct extended sites business models: a customer contract, a base contract, and the base for default contract for the storefront asset store.

Assigning a catalog filter to a contract: B2B direct stores

Using WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, you can assign a catalog filter to the following types of contracts in the B2B direct store and B2B direct extended sites business models: a customer contract, a base contract, and the base for default contract for the storefront asset store.

Before you begin

To learn more about assigning catalog filters to contracts for different business models, read Catalog filter assignment and contracts.
Ensure that the contract you want to assign the catalog filter to exists. To create a contract, see Creating contracts.

Procedure

Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
Click Sales > Accounts.
Select the check box to the left of the business account that has the contract you want to assign the catalog filter to, and then click Contracts.
Select the check box to the left of the target contract, and then click Update Extended TC.
On the Catalog Filter tab, select the catalog filter to assign to the contract in the Property Value column.
Click OK.

Results

The catalog filter is now assigned to the contract. The new catalog filter overrides any filtering that created in the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator Catalog Filter tool. When the contract is active, you can log on to the store as a customer entitled to this contract and verify that the catalog entries that are shown on the storefront are according to the catalog filter you assigned.
