Deleted lists messaging by an aborted messaging

If you delete a recipient list that is messaging by an active mailing, and then abort the mailing, Deliver designates the list as a retired recipient list. The aborted messaging campaign becomes inactive and its configuration indicates that the messaging campaign references a retired recipient list.

The list continues to be considered a retired list because the messaging run did not complete. As a result, the list is not fully deleted from the Deliver database tables that are maintained in the HCL Unica environment.

You cannot restart the aborted mailing with a retired recipient list. Use either of the following methods to finish removing the retired recipient list.

  • Open the mailing for edit and either save the mailing without changes or select a different recipient list and save the mailing.
  • Delete the mailing.

When you save or delete the mailing, the recipient list moves out of its retired state. Deliver can then delete the list and associated metadata from its hosted databases.
