Recipient list definition

You define a recipient list as an Output List Table (OLT) with the Output tab of a Deliver process in a Campaign flowchart. The table stores recipient IDs, email addresses, phone numbers for Push, SMS, and WhatsApp and additional personalization data and metadata that are selected and produced during the flowchart run.

When you define the OLT, you define personalization fields that are used to add data about each recipient to marketing messages. Adding personalization fields to the Output List Table (OLT) maps recipient-specific data in your corporate marketing tables to the OLT. Each one-to-one mapping defines a personalization field. Personalization fields that you define in an Output List Table are called OLT personalization fields. Deliver maintains a list of all of the personalization fields that you create, across multiple recipient lists. You can use the same personalization field in multiple recipient lists.

The personalization fields and other metadata define the columns of the OLT. Rows in the OLT hold recipient IDs taken from the flowchart cells.

There is a one-to-one relationship between the OLT and the Deliver process that you used to create it. A Deliver process can create only a single OLT.

A fully defined OLT includes the following elements.

  • Columns for each personalization field that you define for the recipient list
  • Operational fields used to process mailings. The system includes these fields as part of the default table design but they are not used in messages.
  • A field to provide recipient address information.

Initially, the OLT is empty. You must run the flowchart to populate the table with recipient data.
