Scheduled messaging and deleted recipient lists

A messaging that is enabled for scheduling is in an inactive state until the scheduled job runs and sends a trigger to start a messaging run. Therefore, when you delete the recipient list that is referenced by a messaging that is enabled for scheduling, the system immediately deletes the Output List Table (OLT) and related metadata that is stored in HCL Unica.

When you delete a recipient list that is referenced by a scheduled messaging, the system disables the messaging for scheduling. The scheduled messaging cannot run because the messaging no longer references a list of recipients.

Deleting the recipient list does not delete the scheduled job that is associated with the messaging. After you delete the recipient list, the job will run as scheduled, but the system will display an error. The type of error that you observe depends on how you removed the Deliver process to delete the recipient list.

If you removed the Deliver process by editing the flowchart in Campaign, the flowchart runs according to schedule, but the messaging fails to start because deleting the list disabled the messaging for scheduling.

If you removed the Deliver process by removing the entire flowchart, the scheduled job displays an error because the flowchart that is specified in the job configuration no longer exists.
