Recipient list creation

After you define the recipient list as an Output List Table (OLT), you must create the table and add recipient data. To create and populate the recipient list, you must complete a production run of the Campaign flowchart that contains the Deliver process that you used to define the list.

Running the flowchart creates the output list table (OLT) in the Campaign system schema. The flowchart run populates the table with recipient IDs and other recipient-specific data, according to the mappings defined on the Output tab of the Deliver process configuration window.

Before you run the flowchart, confirm that all mappings in the Deliver process between data sources and personalization fields are complete. You must run the entire flowchart that contains the Deliver process, not just the Deliver process alone.

When you run the flowchart, Campaign automatically creates and uploads the OLT over SFTP or passive FTP (FTPES) depending on FTP protocol defined in configuration to data tables in the hosted environment. This is a background process that requires no action by you, but Deliver will not begin a messaging run until the upload of the recipient list is complete. During the upload, Deliver compresses the data to reduce the load on network resources. The OLT must be uploaded to the hosted environment to make the recipient list available for reference in a messaging campaign configuration.

To ensure that the mailing is using the most current recipient list data, run the flowchart before each messaging run. If you modified the flowchart, you might need to manually clear the Output List Table before a flowchart run to clear the table of data from a previous flowchart run.

Note: If you attempt to send a messaging after you populate the recipient list with a test run of the flowchart, the system prevents the messaging run and displays a message indicating that the messages do not contain production data.
