Adding a conference room owner and assigning a conference room to the owner on a Sametime Video Manager Server

Add a conference room owner, and then create a persistent conference room and assign it to the conference room owner. The conference room is stored on the IBM® Sametime® Video Manager Server where you create it.

Before you begin

Configure the site topology and configure a Sametime Video MCU before adding a conference room.

Procedure

  1. Browse to the IBM WebSphere® Integrated Solutions Console on the server hosting the IBM Sametime System Console.
  2. Log in to the Integrated Solutions Console as the WebSphere administrator.
  3. In the navigation tree, click Sametime System Console > Sametime Servers > Sametime Video Manager Servers.
  4. Click the Sametime Video Manager server name on which you are configuring a conference room owner.
  5. Click Configure the Conference Rooms.
  6. On the IBM Sametime Video Manager Server - Manage Conference Rooms page, click Add new user.
  7. On the Sametime Video Manager Server - User Details page, complete these fields:
    • First name - Enter the conference room owner's first name.
    • Last name - Enter the conference room owner's last name.
    • User ID - Enter the conference room owner's user ID.
    • Password - Enter a password for conference room owner.
    • Confirm Password - Re-enter the password.
  8. Click OK.
  9. In the Conference Owners list, locate the conference room owner to which you are adding a new conference room and click Edit conference rooms.
  10. Click Add New Conference Room.
  11. Complete these fields on the Conference Room Management page:
    • Conference template - Select from the list of templates taken from IBM Sametime Video Manager.
    • Territory - Select from the territories set up on the Sametime Video Manager server.
    • Video MCU pool order - Select from the pool orders set up for the IBM Sametime Video MCU. The Video MCU pool order is the order in which Video MCU pools are used.
    • Chair person code - Enter a unique chair person code. The chair person code and the conference code cannot be the same.
    • Conference passcode - Enter a unique conference passcode. The chair person code and the conference code cannot be the same.
    • Set call duration - Select this option if you want to specify maximum call duration. Activates the Conference duration in hours field and the Conference duration in minutes field. Unlimited by default.
    • Conference duration in hours - Specify a maximum call duration time in hours. Field is active only if Set call duration field is selected.
    • Conference duration in minutes (maximum 59) - Specify a maximum call duration time up to 59 minutes. Field is active only if Set call duration field is selected.
  12. Click OK.
