Specifying a prefix for messages returned to the client log file

Use the -P option to specify a prefix for messages returned to the client log file.

This option is required for all rccbuild requests except when –version option is specified. This option specifies the server name and the listening port.

Syntax

–P prefix
prefix
Specifies a prefix that is added to the front of the message files returned to the client by the server.

The following examples set up a line prefix for messages that are recorded in the client log (rccbuild.log) during a z/OS build run.
rccbuild –h os390@47123 –b rcccomp –ft rcccomp.jcl –i banner.cob  –P 122500
