HCL Commerce is a high-availability, highly scalable and customizable e-commerce platform. Able to support hundreds of thousands of transactions per day, HCL Commerce allows you to do business with consumers (B2C) or directly with businesses (B2B). Using SSL ensures the confidentiality of the data, for example passwords, exchanged between WebSphere Application Server, the HCL Commerce Server, and your LDAP server. This is mandatory for some LDAP servers, for example Microsoft Active Directory and NetIQ eDirectory. Configuring LDAP over SSL is a separate operation from configuring the HTTP Server to accept incoming browser requests over HTTPS.

Disabling LDAP

You can disable LDAP.

About this task

Disabling LDAP will cause the following results:

Users created after enabling LDAP in HCL Commerce will not be able to authenticate to HCL Commerce because their passwords do not exist in the HCL Commerce database.
Users who changed their passwords after enabling LDAP in HCL Commerce can only access HCL Commerce using the password they had before LDAP was enabled. Their current (LDAP) password will no longer work with HCL Commerce.
Users must log in to HCL Commerce using the a full LDAP-style ID. For example, a person with a user ID of wcsadmin must log in asuid=wcsadmin, o=root organization.
