Rule-based sales categories

Business users can define a WebSphere Commerce search-based rule for finding catalog entries that can be automatically assigned to a category.

Business users can use catalog entry properties, attribute dictionary attributes that are for use in merchandising, and sales and master categories to define the search filter conditions for the rule. Business users can also identify specific catalog entries to be assigned to the category in addition to the catalog entries retrieved by using the search conditions.

Business users can reapply this rule to the category at any time. Rule-based sales categories can also be configured so that the rule is reapplied automatically to ensure that the catalog entry assignments for the category match the current rule for the category and remain up-to-date.
