Managing the dashboard

This section describes how to explore your data easily and share the analysis and insights found in the User Dashboard pane.

To create the customised dashboard:

  1. Click the Add widget button in the corner of the Home page then click on New Dashboard button from the Dashboards window.
  2. The text “Select Dashboard Type” allows the user to choose between Global and Personal dashboards.
  3. Global - It is the default account that is created on installing DEX with the capability to manage DEX core and other users. It has full access to all DEX components, including the dashboards/views/reports and the right to create and manage the global dashboard.
  4. Personal - It has access to reporting but is not allowed to manage the user interface. They can only view the reports in DEX dashboard, including the global dashboard. They can create reports as per their specified access or role.
  5. Once the user selects the type (Global/Personal) from “Select Dashboard Type,” the dropdown menu “Select Dashboard” will populate with a list of dashboards of that type. Users can then select the dashboard which they want to edit or delete.
  6. Select an icon that the user wants to display as an icon for the dashboard to be created.
  7. Type a dashboard name and provide description in their respective fields.
  8. Finally, click the Submit button.

The new dashboard has been added and appears in the My Dashboard pane.
