Installing and using z/OS® Extensions
z/OS® Extensions is a component of IBM® Rational® ClearCase® that enables mainframe users to perform select DevOps Code ClearCase operations. z/OS Extensions include Remote Build, TSO Client, and ClearCase RAM (CCRAM).
Configuring z/OS® Extensions
z/OS® Extensions include basic configuration tasks required to use the z/OS Extensions features and some optional configuration tasks. Some of these options need to be configured by an administrator and some need to be configured by individual users for their client environment.

Secure password protection stores encrypted passwords for use by the Remote Build client and the server component of the TSO Client feature.

Create a secure password file for the Remote Build client
Use the procedure in this topic to create a secure password file for a Remote Build client. This procedure needs to be completed for each client that connects to a Remote Build server running with authentication mode 2 or S.
Running rccMKSecure in interactive mode

Running rccMKSecure in interactive mode

Procedure

To run rccMKSecure in interactive mode:

Add CCInstallationPath/bin to your path or open a command window and change directory to CCInstallationPath/bin.
Run rccMKSecure command and follow the instructions on the screen to provide the following information:
- Hostname - Specify the TCP/IP hostname of the z/OS® system on which the Remote Build server is running. This is the system on which your user name and password are valid. Note that no domain is needed in the hostname field.
- User Name - Specify the z/OS MVS™ or z/OS UNIX® System Services user name under which you submit remote builds. Specify the user name in upper case.
- Password - Specify the user password in upper case.
The following is an example of an rccMKSecure command:
