Using secure password protection with TSO Client

Procedure

To set up TSO Client to use password authentication, do these steps:
  1. Log in either with root (Linux® and the UNIX® system) or with administrator (Windows®) privileges.
  2. If you are running the TSO Client server on Windows 2000 or Windows NT®, prepare these systems to use password authentication.
  3. Set the password authentication parameter for the TSO Client server.
  4. Start the TSO Client server.
  5. Set up a secure password for the TSO Client.
This step needs to be completed for each TSO Client that accesses a TSO Client server running in password authentication mode.

What to do next

Note: If you plan to submit Remote Build (rccbuild) commands from TSO Client using secure password protection, then you also need to set up the Remote Build server for secure password protection as described in Using secure password protection with Remote Build.
