Choosing objects for a context menu

Before creating or modifying a context menu, you must first specify the characteristics of objects on which the commands will operate.

Procedure

  1. Specify an HCL VersionVault object type by using one of the following methods:
    • Choose an item from the Object Type list.
    • Choose an existing sample HCL VersionVault object of the type you are interested in.

The selected object's possible states are displayed in the Object State list.

  2. Choose one of the object type's possible states in the Object State list. For example, a File object can be in the Checked In, Checked Out, or View Private states.
  3. Enable one of the following Selection Type options:
    Single Selection
The command appears in the context menu only when a single object of this type and state is selected.
    Multiple Selection
The command appears in the context menu when one or more object of this type and state are selected.

What to do next

Repeat this procedure for each combination of object, state, and selection type for which you want to enable a command.
