Region Synchronizer (Windows)

The Region Synchronizer helps an administrator maintain the HCL VersionVault VOB and view registries in network installations where Windows systems require access to Linux or UNIX VOBs and views. The Region Synchronizer coordinates, or synchronizes, VOB and view tag names between Linux or UNIX and Windows network regions. The typical usage pattern for the Region Synchronizer has two phases:

  • First, the administrator uses the Region Synchronizer to import VOB and view tags from a peer Linux or UNIX region, making them accessible to hosts in a Windows region.
  • Thereafter, the administrator uses the Region Synchronizer intermittently to add Windows region tags for one or several new Linux or UNIX VOBs or views.

For further information about VersionVault registry regions and about registering and using Linux or UNIX VOBS and views, see the help under Administering HCL VersionVault.
