Server accessibility analysis

The Server Accessibility Analysis dialog box allows you to analyze problems that this computer may have when accessing VOBs or views on remote VersionVault hosts. To run this analysis, click Analysis > Server Accessibility Analysis.

VersionVault Doctor analyzes each step required to access a VersionVault object on a remote host and reports any errors that occur. This information can help you or HCL Customer Support diagnose the problem.

You can perform the following tests from this computer:

  • To check whether you can reach a view from this computer, click View Only. From the View list, select the view you want to test.
  • To check whether you can reach a VOB from this computer, click VOB Only. From the VOB list, select the VOB you want to test.
  • To check whether you can use a view to reach a VOB, click View and VOB. From the View list, select the view you want to use in the test. From the VOB list, select the VOB you want to reach.
  • To check whether you can use a specific view to reach a file or directory in a specific VOB, click Path relative to View and VOB. From the View list, select the view you want to use in the test. From the VOB list, select the VOB where the file or directory resides. In the Path box, type the path starting just below the VOB root.

    For example, to test whether you can use view rmp_view to reach \sources\project\file:

    1. Select rmp_view from the View list.
    2. Select \sources from the VOB list.
    3. Type \project\file in the Path box.
