To find, compare, and check in work using Find Checkouts

Procedure

  1. Use Find Checkouts to produce a list of file or directory versions checked out to your view.
  2. Using the list in the Find Checkouts display, see which changes are in a checked-out version:
    • To see the differences between the predecessor version and the current version, right-click the version and click Compare with Previous Version.
    • To see the differences between the current version and any other version, right-click the version and click Version Tree.
    • To see the differences between the current version and any other file, right-click the version and click Send To.
    • To see checkin comments, right-click the version and click History.
  3. Using the list in the Find Checkouts display, perform one of the following actions:
    • To deliver changes for a given file, right-click the entry and click Check In.
    • To cancel your changes for a file, cancel its checkout by right-clicking its entry and clicking Undo Checkout.

      During the cancel checkout operation, you can choose to save your changes in a view-private file.

    • To keep your changes without delivering a file, leave it checked out.

      If you leave a file checked out, the predecessor version in the activity change set is delivered. If the checked-out version is the only version in the change set, no version of the element is delivered.
