Overview of working with checkouts
After you check out a file, you do not need to use HCL VersionVault procedures until you are ready to check it in. However, you may want to use some HCL VersionVault tools for the following tasks:
- Viewing element history
- Comparing versions of elements
- Tracking checked-out versions
If you work in a UCM environment, you may want to use some HCL
VersionVault tools for the following tasks as well:
- Viewing an activity change set
- Moving versions to a different activity
Tip: Some cleartool commands include a -graphical option,
which starts a tool for completing the task.
