IBM® Sametime® consists of a variety of servers and clients, and can be deployed to suit many different environments. The deployment instructions are organized by feature set, beginning with the minimum components that are necessary to support instant messaging, and then expanding the deployment to include features such as audio and video support, and conferencing.

About this task

To verify your host table entries, follow these steps:

From any IBM i command line, type the following command and press Enter: CFGTCP
On the Configure TCP/IP display, select option 10 to work with TCP/IP Host Table entries.
Record each host name and the corresponding TCP/IP address, as you may need this information later.
If your Sametime deployment will support IPv6 addressing, make sure that the IPv6 address is mapped to the server's host name in this table. If you will support both IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, then each format should be mapped to the host name to ensure that Connections of both types are enabled.
