An IBM® Sametime® deployment is made of up several component servers that can be started and stopped independently.
Starting and stopping a Sametime Community Server while Domino® is running
The HCL® Sametime® Community Server is configured as a set of services that start and stop automatically when the HCL Domino® server is stopped or started. You can also start and stop the Sametime Community Server while leaving the Domino server running.
Starting and stopping both Domino® and the Sametime® Community Server
Start and stop both the IBM® Domino® server and the IBM Sametime® Community Server. The Community Server is hosted on the Domino server.

Before you begin

This procedure only applies when the Domino® server is started as a Microsoft™ Windows service.

Select Start > Administrative Tools > Component Services.
In the Services dialog box, select Services (Local).
Complete one of these steps:
- If you are starting the server, right-click Sametime server and select Start.
- If you are stopping the server, right-click Sametime server and select Stop.
