Using IBM HTTP Server

If you want to use IBM HTTP Server with WebSphere Commerce, you must preinstall the web server and update the web server to the required level.

WebSphere Commerce supports IBM HTTP Server Version 8.5.5.7

Before you begin

  • LinuxAIXLog on as a non-root user.

About this task

IBM HTTP Server is included in the WebSphere Application Server eAssembly.

Procedure

  1. Install IBM HTTP Server Version 8.5.5 according to the documentation that is provided with the IBM HTTP Server package that you are using.
    Important:
    1. LinuxAIXEnsure that you install IBM HTTP Server as a non-root user otherwise WebSphere Commerce does not install successfully.
    2. LinuxLinux on eServer and IBM System p supports Open SSL as a cryptographic engine only. If the Open SSL license is not accepted during installation, SSL functions might not function properly.
    3. AIXDo not install IBM HTTP Server at the default location, /home/wasuser, when you install by using the non-root user. Use another location, for example: /usr/IBMIHS.
  2. Update IBM HTTP Server to Version 8.5.5 Fix Pack 7. For more information, see Fix list for IBM HTTP Server Version 8.5.
  3. If your web server node is remote from your WebSphere Commerce node, see Installing the WebSphere Application Server Web server plug-in.
  4. If you plan to have IBM HTTP Server on a node remote from the WebSphere Commerce node, create the WebSphere Commerce instance the follow the directions in the topic Configuring servers after instance creation.
