Taking your first steps after a WebSphere Commerce installation

After you install WebSphere Commerce, you can install other software, or you can perform advanced configuration.

Procedure

• Install and configure any other software that is provided with WebSphere Commerce.
• Perform advanced configuration tasks. Advanced configurations for WebSphere Commerce include federation, clustering, removing a node, and adding cluster members.

• Set up IBM Health Center to collect data for performance analysis and tuning.
• If you plan to use managed assets, use a separate process to propagate files to your staging and production servers. For more information, see Managed asset deployment.
• Review the maintenance section and install any necessary maintenance packages.
• Review the Hardening site security checklist. WebSphere Commerce was designed with security in mind. However, like any software product, it must be properly configured, used, and maintained to remain secure.
