Installing the WebSphere Application Server web server plug-in

The WebSphere Application Server web server plug-in enables communication between the web server and the WebSphere Application Server.

This option is available only if IBM HTTP Server is detected on the system and the WebSphere Application Server web server plug-in for IBM HTTP Server is not detected.

Select this component to install the WebSphere Application Server web server plug-in for IBM HTTP Server.

Before you begin

  • LinuxAIXLog on as a non-root user.

Procedure

  1. Install and configure the WebSphere Application Server web server plug-in manually.
    LinuxAIXImportant: Ensure that you install the plug-in as a non-root user, otherwise WebSphere Commerce does not install successfully..

    Note: The WebSphere Application Server web server plug-in has important restrictions on using parentheses characters in the path name.
  2. Update the web server plug-in to Version 8.5.5.7. For more information, see Installing fix packs on the Web Server Plug-ins using the GUI.
  3. To configure your remote web server to communicate with WebSphere Commerce, you must install the WebSphere Application Server web server plug-ins on the web server node.
