Starting or stopping an application server under WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment

WebSphere Commerce is deployed as a WebSphere Application Server application. Use the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console to start and stop the application.

About this task

The following instructions apply only to application servers that were federated into a cell. For more information about federating application server nodes into cells, see WebSphere Application Server Best Practices.

The following instructions do not apply when you start or stop a cluster of application servers. For information about starting or stopping a cluster of application servers, see Taking your first steps after a WebSphere Commerce installation.

To start an application server under WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment, complete the following steps on the WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment machine:

Procedure

  1. Start the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console and log on to the console. For more information, see Opening the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console.
  2. In the Navigation area, expand Servers and then click Application Servers. The Application Servers page is displayed.
  3. Select the check box that is next to the application server that you want to start or stop and click Start or Stop.
    The following table displays the WebSphere Commerce application servers that might be available:

    The name of the WebSphere Commerce application server is server1.
