Migrating to Rational Application Developer Version 8 from a WebSphere Commerce Version 7 environment with a feature pack installed

If you are migrating to Rational Application Developer Version 8 from a WebSphere Commerce Version 7 environment with a feature pack installed and with features enabled, follow these steps to ensure that you are successful.

Use these steps to migrate to Rational Application Developer Version 8.0.4.2 iFix 1, or a higher Version 8.0 fix pack.

Note: If you want to migrate from WebSphere Commerce Version 5.6.1 or WebSphere Commerce Version 6 to WebSphere Commerce Version 7 with Rational Application Developer Version 8, you must take the following migration path:

The migration path is:
- From WebSphere Commerce Version 5.6.1 with WebSphere Studio Application Developer Version 5.1
- To WebSphere Commerce Version 7 with Rational Application Developer Version 7.5.5.x
- To WebSphere Commerce Version 7 with Rational Application Developer Version 8
The migration path is:
- From WebSphere Commerce Version 6 with Rational Application Developer Version 6
- To WebSphere Commerce Version 7 with Rational Application Developer Version 7.5.5.x
- To WebSphere Commerce Version 7 with Rational Application Developer Version 8

Procedure

Install WebSphere Commerce Fix Pack 7 and Feature Pack 6.
Note: Instructions for installing the fix pack are included as part of the step-by-step instructions for installing the feature pack.
Enable any of the features you enabled in your previous WebSphere Commerce environment.
If you customized your Management Center in a previous environment, migrate your project to the WebSphere Commerce Feature Pack 6 level.
Install Rational Application Developer Version 8.0.4.2 iFix 1, or a higher Version 8.0 fix pack, with WebSphere Application Server 7
Run the following command in the WCDE_installdir\bin\ directory:
```
migrateToRAD8.bat RAD8installdir
```
where RAD8installdir is the directory where Rational Application Developer Version 8 is installed. For example:
```
migrateToRAD8.bat C:\IBM\SDPv8
```
To validate that the command ran successfully, check the WCDE_installdir\logs\migrateToRAD8.log for errors.
Start WebSphere Commerce Developer.
If Rational Application Developer Version 8 detects that any content in your workspace needs to be migrated, it automatically launches its workspace migration tool and notifies you of what must be done.
Optional: Enable any features that you want to use that are not enabled yet.
