Troubleshooting: Supported product not detected error when using the Update Installer

If you are applying WebSphere Commerce Version maintenance, you must use the Update Installer downloaded from the WebSphere Commerce Support Web site. If you are applying any maintenance for WebSphere Application Server, you must use the Update Installer provided on the WebSphere Application Server Support Web site.

Problem

You attempt to use the WebSphere Application Server Update Installer to apply WebSphere Commerce maintenance, which results in the following error message:

CWUPDI0012E: A supported product could not be detected at the specified location

Solution

Reapply the maintenance package using the WebSphere Commerce Update Installer that is available from the WebSphere Commerce Update Installer download page.
