Troubleshooting: Install or uninstall fails during reattempts

When you are installing or uninstalling maintenance packages with the Update Installer (UPDI) graphical wizard, the process fails and a message displays with the problem. You fix the problem and reattempt the process by pressing Back, and then Next. The process still fails.

For example, an installation might fail because the server cannot be reached. You restart the WebSphere Commerce administrative server and solrServer, then in UPDI you press Back > Next to reattempt the installation.


UPDI caches statuses, therefore UPDI does not recheck failures when you press Back. For the preceding example, the server status is not refreshed. Therefore, the server failure continues to occur.


Close UPDI and relaunch the application to clear the cache.
