About the Version Tree Browser

The Version Tree Browser displays graphically part or all of the version tree of one or more elements. By default, the display includes all branches of an element version tree except for obsolete branches and excludes certain versions on the included branches. You can change to default to display your own preferences. You can also control the way versions are annotated with version labels and merge arrows.

For each branch included in the display, these selected versions are shown:

  • Checked-out versions and their predecessors
  • Versions that are the LATEST on their branches
  • Versions with labels
  • Versions at which a subbranch was created
  • Versions that are hyperlink endpoints.

Context help

To display context help for an available button in the toolbar, right-click that button. If a button is unavailable, select one or more objects relevant to the operation of the button. For example, the Describe button is dimmed until you select a type object that can be described.

To display button help for an available command, click the menu, use the arrow keys to navigate to the subcommand of interest, and press F1.

Transcript pad

The transcript pad displays operational messages. It is displayed automatically only in response to error and status messages.

For each command you execute, a separate transcript pad receives error, status, and warning messages, along with output from some commands.
