Selecting a registry server host

One host in the network acts as the HCL VersionVault registry server host. The HCL VersionVault client and server processes use this host to determine the locations of all HCL VersionVault data structures (VOBs and views) on the network.

For example, the registry server is consulted when a VOB or view is activated, and when the data container for a derived object is promoted from the view storage to the VOB storage. The registry server host must be highly available. If the registry server host becomes unavailable, all users will be unable to access HCL VersionVault VOBs and views.
