Unica Deliver is a web-based, enterprise scale marketing message solution that you can use to conduct outbound bulk messaging and transactional messaging campaigns. Deliver integrates with Unica Campaign and with secure message composition, transmission, and tracking resources that are hosted by Unica.
Offers in personalized email
You can add offers that you define in Unica Campaign to personalized email that you create and send through Unica Deliver. Including offers in your marketing email gives you an opportunity to deliver a timely and targeted call to action to your audience. The system collects the offer responses and makes the data available in the Campaign contact and response history for use in Campaign performance reports.
Associating offers with assets
You associate an offer with an asset by adding the offer to the asset in the Deliver Message Editor. You can add only one offer at a time to an asset.
Finding offers to add to an asset
To add an offer to an asset in Deliver, you must search for offers that are available in Campaign. You can search for offers when you edit an asset in the Message Editor.

Marketers without specific HTML editing experience can create valid, full-featured HTML email and landing pages with the editing and personalization tools in the Message Editor.

  Email and landing page templates are documents that you create outside of the Deliver Message Editor to define the layout of personalized email, hosted landing pages. The design of the template guides the design of the message.   Deliver provides a template-based scripting language for creating self-contained scripts that provide a way to personalize content in ways that you cannot easily duplicate in the Deliver Message Editor.

When you add the asset to an email communication that is sent in a mailing, Deliver tracks recipient responses and returns the data to Campaign.

    - Asset content type and offers
      Assets in Deliver can contain static content or dynamic content. When you add an offer to an asset, the offer is associated with the asset, not the content the asset contains.
    - Removing an offer from an asset
      If you no longer want to associate an offer with an asset, you can remove the offer.
  - Adding offers to communications
    To add an offer to a communication, you add an asset and its associated offer to the communication in the Message Editor. To be able to track the offer responses, you must associate the asset with a hyperlink. The system tracks offer responses by tracking link clicks for the hyperlink that you add to the asset with the offer.
  - Adding the communication with offers to a mailing
    You send offers to your target audience by referencing a communication that contains the offers to an Deliver mailing. You reference a communication when you configure a mailing on a mailing tab in Campaign.
  - Sending a mailing that contains offers
    You send mailings that contain offers by using the same procedures that are used to send mailings that do not contain offers. However, if the communication that the mailing references contains offers, the system validates the status of the offers before the mailing starts.
  - Analyzing offer responses
    When you configure and send a mailing that contains offers, DeliverDeliver records information to identify each offer and each offer recipient. When individuals respond to the offer, Deliver records information to identify each response. The offer data is stored in the Deliver system tables until it is retrieved by Campaignfor use in Campaign performance reports.

Finding offers to add to an asset

To add an offer to an asset in Deliver, you must search for offers that are available in Campaign. You can search for offers when you edit an asset in the Message Editor.

About this task

When you search for an offer in Campaign from an asset editor in the Message Editor, you access Campaign as an HCL Unica user. The user permissions that are associated with the user determine which offers you can find.

A search for offers returns a maximum of 50 offers. The search does not include results for offers that are retired.

You can search for offers that are based on the following offer characteristics.

Name of the offer
Offer description
Owner of the offer (You can enter a comma-delimited list.)
Offer Code

A partial match returns a result for all characteristics except Offer Code. You must enter the entire Offer Code as a search term.
