Unica Deliver is a web-based, enterprise scale marketing message solution that you can use to conduct outbound bulk messaging and transactional messaging campaigns. Deliver integrates with Unica Campaign and with secure message composition, transmission, and tracking resources that are hosted by Unica.
Offers in personalized email
You can add offers that you define in Unica Campaign to personalized email that you create and send through Unica Deliver. Including offers in your marketing email gives you an opportunity to deliver a timely and targeted call to action to your audience. The system collects the offer responses and makes the data available in the Campaign contact and response history for use in Campaign performance reports.

You send mailings that contain offers by using the same procedures that are used to send mailings that do not contain offers. However, if the communication that the mailing references contains offers, the system validates the status of the offers before the mailing starts.

  Digital marketers construct email, landing pages, WhatsApp messages, and text messages in Unica Deliver in the Deliver Message Editor. Marketers without specific HTML editing experience can create valid, full-featured HTML email and landing pages with the editing and personalization tools in the Message Editor.

  Email and landing page templates are documents that you create outside of the Deliver Message Editor to define the layout of personalized email, hosted landing pages. The design of the template guides the design of the message. To create personalized email, marketers add content to the template by modifying the template or by using editing tools that are provided in the Message Editor.

  The Deliver Message Editor provide several ways to insert images and videos into personalized messages. You can add images and videos from the Content Library or add them from external sources when you send each message.

Preview simulates how personalized parts of the Deliver document used to create the email, landing page, SMS, WhatsApp may change according to the personal characteristics of each recipient.

Publishing a communication does not transmit the communication to message recipients or landing page visitors.   Personalization fields provide the means to add recipient-specific information from your marketing database to a SMS, email, WhatsApp, push notifications . Personalization fields are also used in rules that control how conditionalized content displays in each personalized message.

In Unica Deliver, you can define two types of conditional content.   Deliver provides a template-based scripting language for creating self-contained scripts that provide a way to personalize content in ways that you cannot easily duplicate in the Deliver Message Editor.

    You create offers in Unica Campaign, based on an offer template that defines default offer attributes. In the Deliver Message Editor or Quick Builder, you can associate an offer with an asset, either an image or snippet, that contains a URL. When you add the asset to an email communication that is sent in a mailing, Deliver tracks recipient responses and returns the data to Campaign.

    Before you integrate Campaign offers with personalized email, you must prepare Campaign to process the offer responses that arrive from the email channel.

    You associate an offer with an asset by adding the offer to the asset in the Deliver Message Editor. You can add only one offer at a time to an asset.

    To add an offer to a communication, you add an asset and its associated offer to the communication in the Message Editor. To be able to track the offer responses, you must associate the asset with a hyperlink. The system tracks offer responses by tracking link clicks for the hyperlink that you add to the asset with the offer.

    You send offers to your target audience by referencing a communication that contains the offers to an Deliver mailing. You reference a communication when you configure a mailing on a mailing tab in Campaign.

    When you configure and send a mailing that contains offers, DeliverDeliver records information to identify each offer and each offer recipient. When individuals respond to the offer, Deliver records information to identify each response. The offer data is stored in the Deliver system tables until it is retrieved by Campaignfor use in Campaign performance reports.

Sending a mailing that contains offers

You send mailings that contain offers by using the same procedures that are used to send mailings that do not contain offers. However, if the communication that the mailing references contains offers, the system validates the status of the offers before the mailing starts.

About this task

You can avoid mailing errors by reviewing the status of offers that are included in a mailing before you begin the mailing run. Ensure that all offers are valid and are not retired or deleted.

The mailing tab displays an error message if offers associated with the mailing are in any of the following states.

Not yet active
Expired
Retired
Deleted

The system displays the offer code for expired, retired, or not yet active offers. For deleted offers, the system displays the offer ID for each deleted offer.

You can choose to correct the problems that are related to the offers. However, you can continue to send the mailing. The system does not prevent you from sending the mailing if errors are reported for offers.
